Need some flatwound strings for your 8-string (or 4-string) electric mandolin or mandola? You've come to the right place. (I also sell roundwound sets, as well as sets for 5-string mandolins (both roundwound and flatwound, 5-string baritone mandolins, mandolas, octave mandolins, and mandocellos.)
     Discriminating players who seek a warm, jazzier tone often turn to flatwound strings. Flatwounds are much more expensive than roundwounds, but the difference is worth it for many folks.

The A and E strings are plain steel; the G and D strings are D'Addario Chromes  flatwound with stainless steel. Sets are available with either loop-end or ball-end strings. You will automatically get ball-end strings unless you specify loop-end.

If you want to calculate the string tension you'll get when you put these strings on your mandolin, use this handy calculation tool. I'm not the only one to offer 8-string sets, although I may be the only one selling them in ball-end. They're somewhat easier to find than they used to be, but still not what you'd call commonplace.
