Gibson EM150
Gibson EM-150, 1968. $1,800.
Here's a Gibson EM-150 from 1968. It has an orange label and the serial number inscribed there is 895547. In this particular epoch it was Gibson’s habit to stamp the serial number on the back of the headstock as well, and indeed it is stamped there, but for some reason the stamp has only the first five digits: 89554 (no 7). The tailpiece base and control knobs are also consistent with the late 1960s.
This mandolin comes with its original green-lined Geib hardshell case. Damage to the case necessitated that exterior strip be reglued and the certer latch replaced. The mandolin is in good shape, with no repairs or cracks. There is typical wear and a few small marks in the finish. There is some fretwear. The tailpiece cover and possibly the endpin are replacements.
Spruce top; nicely figured 2-piece maple back and sides. Original P-90 pickup and Kluson tuners. It's strung with Emando.com Light strings. It's yours for $1,800 plus shipping. See more photos, call 425/772-0231, or for more information. 48-hour approval offered.
