Based in Port Townsend, WA, Ronald Ho made mostly custom 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars in the 1980s and 1990s, for an all-star clientele that included jazz legend Ralph Towner. Built in 1990, this is one of Ho's few electric mandolins.
     It features a neck of Honduras mahogany, with a strikingly figured African wenge body finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. Ebony fretboard with 23 frets, dot inlays, and 13.75" scale; 1-5/16" nut width. String-through-body design; metal hardtail bridge with 5 individually adjustable saddles. Gotoh mini tuners, DiMarzio twin-blade humbucking pickup. 4-ply custom pickguard, tone & volume controls. Built for CGDAE tuning.
