Emando 5
Emando 5-string, black, gig bag. $880.
You're looking at a milestone for Emando.com. After 17 years of selling my own strings and other people's instruments, I am for the first time offering a new mandolin with the Emando brand. Sharp eyes may recognize this 5-string black beauty as being very similar to a JBovier EMC-5. And they'd be right—that instrument is discontinued, but I acquired a small batch of unassembled ones and had luthier Andrew Jerman help out with putting them together. It's a classic design that balances great looks with comfort, versatility, and tone.
Black finish and white pearloid pickguard. Solid basswood body with solid maple bolt-on neck; radiused maple fretboard with 13.875" scale and .080" frets. Bone nut and chrome hardware including Wilkinson tuners. Dual "JB-53" custom pickups with 3-way switching: neck, bridge, or both (humbucking). Volume & tone knobs. Emando headstock logo and a pair of string trees to help keep the strings where they belong. Includes a high-quality, heavily padded Access gig bag, or upgrade to a hardshell case. Add a strap, see more photos, call 425/772-0231, or for more information. $880 plus shipping.
