Fender MandoStrat. $850–900.
A few years ago Fender introduced the MandoStrat—for all intents and
purposes a reissue of its famous Mandocaster. The MandoStrat was
imported from Indonesia and was a success, as far as I know—but Fender
discontinued it nonetheless. That has made it hard to find, and MandoStrats tend
to be snapped up quickly whenever they appear.
Solid alder body, 13 7/8" scale, C-profile maple neck with 24-fret rosewood fretboard. Single pickup with volume & tone controls. The chrome-plated 2-saddle bridge was made on the same machine used to produce original Mandocaster bridges. Three-ply tortoiseshell plastic pickguard, vintage-style tuners, and chrome hardware.

This 2014 MandoStrat was well kept
and has only minor wear. It's in excellent
shape and a lot of fun to play. The blue finish is unusual; reportedly it came from the Fender custom shop. Most
MandoStrats are sunburst.
