Terry Bales 4-string, semi-hollow, natural, 1997. $1,100.
Here's a semi-hollow 4-string electric from Terry Bales of Eldorado Springs,
Missouri. Single cutaway, alder body with 2-piece spruce top and single
F-hole. Natural blond finish. Bolt-on neck
is natural birdseye maple; has an adjustable reverse-mounted truss rod.
Rosewood fretboard with small guitar frets. Nut width is 1 1/4";
should feel familiar to mandolin players and leave you enough room to
bend notes. Hot double-rail humbucker will take you all the way from
country to jazz to blues. What looks like a guitar-style pin bridge is
actually a through-body bridge with a wood base and Corian saddle.
Nickel tone and volume controls, individual Grover tuners,
and a roller-style string tree.
