Kumar, a student of Maestro U. Srinivas, has made a name for himself in the pantheon of Carnatic electric mandolinists. (See also Raghavendra.) Not only that, he's a corporate lawyer. His "Dragon" mandolin was custom-built by John Pereira of Peter Pereira Instruments in Mumbai, India.
