Steve Wishnevsky
Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Steve is a professional cabinetmaker and part-time luthier who builds just about anything he can imagine. The electric mandolin on the left, according to Steve, has a 14-inch scale, rosewood fingerboard, mahogany neck, and a spalted apple body. The finish is brushed lacquer, the frets are jumbos, the tuners are Grovers, and the pickup is an EMG Select Humbucker. The only control is a volume, and the nut and bridge are Corian. On the right is an equally interesting electric mandocello. For a look at some more of Steve's instruments, visit his Web site.
