Dario
Tucciarelli
Above and right, a wicked Flying V built by Mr. Tucciarelli at the Guitar Clinic
in Denver, Colorado. Specs: Mahogany body and neck, black nitrocellulose
lacquer finish, w-b-w bound pickguard, ebony fingerboard with pearl inlay,
gold hardware, gold Schaller tuners, Seymour Duncan Q Pound SPB-3 pickups,
two volume knobs and one tone knob, ebony-and-brass compensated bridge,
and bone nut. Beneath, a Les Paul-inspired 8-string
and a Breadwinner-style 4-string.
Mr. Tucciarelli writes: "Started when I was
playing on stage one night and the band was overpowering my A-style
acoustic mando. The thing was feeding back every time I tried to turn up
for a solo. I said, 'That's it!' So I built one for myself. I liked it so
much that I had to build some more."
I sympathize with Dario, and I think his
solution is elegant. You can reach him by , or contact:
