Spicer 8-string, 2000s. $650.
Mike Spicer of Canada made a handful of these 8-string electric mandolins, inspired by the Vox Mando Guitar from the 1960s. This one has been refinished, but not very well. However, it's all set up and ready to play, if you don't mind the somewhat rustic paint job.
This solid-body mandolin is equipped with both a lipstick tube pickup and a piezo pickup installed in the Danelectro-type bridge. It has a volume knob, a control knob, and a third knob to blend the two pickup signals. Other features include a bolt-on maple neck and a clear pickguard.
21-fret rosewood fretboard with side dot markers and zero fret. Standard 13-3/4" scale and 1-5/16" metal nut. Four-on-a-plate open gear tuners. Hardshell case included. The frets are newly dressed and it's had a pro setup, so it's ready to go.
