Rono "signature model" baritone 5-string by Ron Oats. $2,950. SOLD.
Here's a fantastic new Rono electric 5-string baritone mandolin by Ron Oats of Boulder, Colorado. With a scale length of 18.5 inches, it's designed for GDAEB tuning, like an octave mandolin with a high B string.
It features an unusually figured maple top on a semi-hollow clear maple body, finished in a warm sunburst under hand-rubbed nitrocellulose lacquer. A pair of custom-built mini-humbuckers are voiced especially for baritone mandolin, and are controlled by chrome knobs and a 3-way switch. Five-piece maple neck with double-action truss rod. Rosewood tailpiece, headplate and fretboard. Gotoh tuners; Tune-o-Matic style adjustable bridge. Creme body binding. All metal parts are chrome plated. Remarkable tone and playability match its exquisite looks. Hardshell case included.
There aren't many choices out there for players wanting to jump on the baritone bandwagon, but here's a rare opportunity to own one from the pioneer who popularized the concept in our times. See more photos, or for more information. $3,150 plus shipping. 48-hour approval period.
