Here's a Rono electric 5-string baritone mandolin for GDAEB tuning by Ron Oates of
Boulder, Colorado. Solid body made from a particularly resonant block of
limba wood. Set maple neck, radiused rosewood fretboard with jumbo frets.
MOP inlays and 19"
scale, and a pair of "Mandobucker" pickups. Serial number
042418. Nickel hardware
includes Gotoh tuners, tone and volume controls, pickup blender/selector with push/pull series/parallel switching, a pair of strap buttons,
side jack and Tun-O-Matic bridge with individual saddles. Rosewood tailpiece.
Sunburst lacquer finish. Brand new. Unfortunately, it has developed some
finish checks in the lacquer: two long ones on the top, visible only at
certain angles, and a short one on the back. I'm offering it for a
reduced price of $1,500.
Of late, three-time IBMA Mandolinist of the Year Sierra Hull
has been playing her Rono baritone on the road and in the studio. Here's your chance to be like Sierra.
There aren't many choices out there for players wanting
to jump on the baritone bandwagon, but here's a rare opportunity to own one from the pioneer who
popularized the concept in our times.
Gig bag included.
