Here's a real beauty from Ohio luthier Doug O'Dell at
Oldtown Mandolins. Now retired, Doug established a small but
stellar reputation for these Gibson EM200 copies. He also built some killer acoustic mandolins.
Solid mahogany 2-point body with flame maple cap in deep blue sunburst
finish. Flame maple neck with ebony fretboard; standard mandolin scale
length and frets; traditional Loar-style bridge. Extravagant tulip-shaped headstock with ebony overlay and
abalone Gibson-inspired fleur-de-lis inlay. Top has single-ply white binding.
Nickel-plated hardware, Seymour Duncan "Dimebag Darrell" humbucker; tone
and volume controls. Gig bag included, or upgrade to a hardshell case.
Used but very clean. A previous owner modified the instrument by
securing the floating bridge in place with two screws in a quest to
improve the tone. I'm leaving it as is for now, although I can certainly
have the holes filled and a new bridge fitted if you prefer. See
for more information. $2,250 plus shipping. 48-hour approval period.
