Ryder EM-45, alder, red, 5-string. $800.
Here's a great 5-string electric mandolin from Steve Ryder in Maine. Solid alder body finished in red, single-coil pickup, volume and tone controls.  Hardware is nickel-plated. White pickguard. The bolt-on neck and headstock overlay are flame maple, as is the fretboard. Nut width is a spacious 1 3/8".
If you know Steve Ryder's work, you know that he winds these pickups by hand. They've got wonderful tone and produce no extraneous noise whatsoever.
Although this is a basic, no-frills version of the EM-45, it's still a full-on professional-grade instrument from one of the very best makers, it plays comfortably and easily, and it's just about all you could ask for in a 5-string electric.
