Here's a Rono electric 5-string mandolin by Ron Oates of
Boulder, Colorado. Solid body, set maple neck, radiused rosewood fretboard with 14"
scale. Pickup has been upgraded to a Lindy Fralin "Big Single Mini," but
the original Bill Lawrence twin-blade humbucker will be included with
the sale. Nut width is
1.3215". Nickel hardware
includes Gotoh tuners, tone and volume controls, a pair of strap buttons,
side jack and hardtail bridge with individually tunable saddles. Transparent
red glossy finish. Slightly used.
The choice of String Cheese Incident's Michael Kang and
other jam-band players, Rono mandolins are known for jazzy tone and easy
playability. They're also notoriously hard to get, but here at least is
an answer for one lucky mandolinist. Access rectangular hardshell
case included.
