Blue Star Mandoblaster 4-string #725 by Bruce Herron. $550.
Michigan luthier Bruce Herron has been making fun, affordable electric Blue Star Mandoblasters for as long as I can remember, and that's quite a track record. You may have seen Blue Stars in the hands of pro players like Otis Taylor, Bucky Baxter (with Bob Dylan), or Don Herron of BR5-49.
This 4-string Mandoblaster (serial number 725) features a silver "psycho-burst" phenolic finish, a single-coil lipstick-tube pickup, 2-piece black/pearloid pickguard, volume and tone controls, tuneable bridge with fully adjustable saddles, 14" scale length, 1-3/8" nut width, ebony fretboard with standard mandolin fretwire, and 1-piece maple neck.
Slight wear along the lower edge on the treble side, but excellent condition overall. Gig bag included, or upgrade to a custom gig bag or hardshell case. See more photos, or for more information. $550 plus shipping.
